Day 1:
Arrive in the morning of Monday 10/13 and we will drive to Reykjavik to acclimate to the time difference and start our trip off downtown.
We will get breakfast in town, shake off the jet-lag with a 2-hour gentle walking tour, and end our day at the Hallgrimskirkja church, with a tour to the tower which hosts a spectacular view of the city and bay.
Day 2:
Spend the day touring the Golden Circle. With Gulfoss waterfall, the geothermal geyser, and the continental divide, it's a great place to explore.
After lunch out, we will take a dip in the hot springs at the Secret Lagoon.
Day 3:
A full-day of sightseeing starts with the Skogafass waterfall.
We will continue down the coast to the town of Vik. Here we will find lunch and walk along the black sand beach.
Driving further down the south coast, we will reach Jokulsarlan, a glacier lake, and Diamond Beach.
This will be a full-day trip, and we can keep watch for northern lights on the return to the hotel.
Day 4:
In the morning we will drive to a local farm and ride the sturdy Icelandic horses to see the rugged interior landscape.
The afternoon offers an opportunity to return to Reykjavik OR stay near the hotel to rest during the afternoon.
As a group we will meet in downtown Reykjavik to embark on a northern lights cruise in the bay.

**If traveling from the Charleston SC area there will likely be an additional hotel night on the return flight from 10/17-10/18. This hotel will be on your own as we may not be connecting through the same cities.
